About the role

As a Work Preparation (Test Engineer) for Printed Circuit Board Assemblies (PCBA), you will play a key role in preparing, optimizing, and supporting manufacturing test processes for both new and existing PCBA products. You will collaborate closely with design engineers, process specialists, and production teams to ensure products meet the highest standards of quality, manufacturability, and performance. 

Your analytical mindset, hands-on approach, and strong sense of ownership will contribute directly to successful product introductions and continuous improvements within the manufacturing environment. 

  • Prepare and configure PCBA manufacturing test machine files for New Product Introduction (NPI) production. 

  • Collaborate with design engineers, technicians, and process specialists during the NPI phase of PCBA assemblies. 

  • Fine-tune and optimize PCBA test machines for (0-)series and volume production. 

  • Identify, analyze, and resolve production issues, providing both short- and long-term solutions. 

  • Provide feedback to design and project teams to improve manufacturability and ensure product configuration integrity. 

  • Design and implement improvements to enhance the quality and safety of the PCBA production line. 

  • Drive corrective actions and process improvements on assigned processes and products. 

  • Identify trends and opportunities to improve product output, quality, and manufacturability cost-effectiveness. 

  • Support the manufacturing team operationally by coordinating with production planning, team leaders, and (proto) technicians to meet quality and delivery targets. 

  • Provide hands-on support in daily production activities when required.

What you bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechatronics. 

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a technical role, preferably involving the analysis or testing of electronic systems. 

  • A hands-on mindset with strong problem-solving skills. 

  • Excellent analytical thinking and attention to detail. 

  • A strong sense of ownership and responsibility for work and results. 

  • Proficiency in English, both written and spoken. 

  • Knowledge of PCBA and IPC manufacturing standards is a plus. 

  • Experience with root cause analysis and Viscom software tools is a plus. 

  • Willing to work in a 2-shift system
