About the role
In this position, you will take ownership of guiding and strengthening an established team, driving both its structural development and day-to-day effectiveness. You will foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and professional growth, ensuring that team members are empowered to perform at their best.
You will divide your time between leading the team and actively contributing to engineering and manufacturing-related activities, ensuring a strong connection between design, industrialization, and production.
Using your leadership experience, you will steer performance management processes, including calibrations, mid-year, and end-year reviews, while actively coaching and mentoring engineers to support their individual development paths.
From a technical perspective, you will act as a Manufacturing Engineer, supporting the transition from design to production, optimizing manufacturability, and ensuring efficient and robust production processes.
Your scope spans both new product introduction (NPI) and lifecycle management (LCM). You will ensure the team delivers robust, reliable, and manufacturable designs, while maintaining compliance with evolving standards and requirements. At the same time, you will stimulate innovation and technical excellence in the development of new products. Your responsibilities are:
Lead, coach, and develop a team of approximately 10 mechanical engineers, fostering a high-performing and collaborative team environment
Take full ownership of team management activities, including performance management, recruitment, capacity planning, and succession planning
Drive team engagement, cohesion, and professional growth through strong interpersonal leadership and clear communication
Actively contribute as a Manufacturing Engineer, bridging the gap between design, industrialization, and production
Guide the team in designing and developing mechanical solutions from concept through to industrialization
Ensure alignment and effective collaboration within multidisciplinary project teams to deliver integrated, high-quality product solutions
Balance technical decision-making across performance, cost, manufacturability, and reliability considerations
Build strong relationships with manufacturing, sourcing, and other key stakeholders to ensure seamless execution
Oversee and support root-cause analysis, validation, testing, and continuous design optimization
Facilitate constructive technical discussions, providing direction, challenge, and decision-making where required
Promote continuous improvement across both new product development (NPI) and lifecycle management (LCM) activities
Contribute to strengthening engineering standards, ways of working, and team maturity
