About the role

As Manager Machining, you are responsible for the daily performance, quality, and development of the machining department. You lead the production teams and create a safe, engaging, and results-driven working environment. At the same time, you drive stable production flow, optimal machine utilization, robust process control, and continuous improvement on the shop floor.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Resource & capacity management: Own the departmental budget and optimize the deployment of people, machines, tooling, and production capacity.

  • Quality & process control: Ensure stable machining processes, strong process discipline, and compliance with quality and safety standards. Systematically reduce scrap, disruptions, and process variation.

  • Continuous improvement & change management: Lead and deliver improvements in lead time, machine utilization, automation, and standardization in close collaboration with manufacturing engineering, quality, maintenance, planning, and product teams.

    How you lead:

  • You create a safe and respectful working environment where people feel heard and take responsibility

  • You delegate effectively, trust your team, and remain accessible and involved

  • You communicate clearly, connect people, and align them around common goals

  • You act consistently and fairly.

  • You believe sustainable performance goes hand in hand with a healthy work–life balance.

  • A confident decision-maker who balances structure, pragmatism, and collaboration

  • Able to set clear direction and define a vision while leveraging the expertise of operators, specialists, and engineers
